Nancy Washeim, M.Mus., M.Sc., RSLP is the Director of the Victoria Voice & Swallow Clinic in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
Nancy is a Speech-Language Pathologist with more than 20 years of experience in music and vocal performance. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from McGill University and has performed nationally and internationally as a soloist.
Her clinical practice focuses on assessment and treatment of voice and upper airway disorders, including voice rehabilitation for singers and professional voice users, aging voice (presbylaryngis), muscle tension dysphonia, vocal nodules, polyps, cysts, laryngeal dystonia (spasmodic dysphonia), and vocal tremor. She also provides assessment and treatment for chronic refractory cough and Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction (ILO and EILO), as well as pre- and post-surgical voice care.
Nancy provides flexible and rigid endoscopy with stroboscopy as part of a comprehensive voice assessment and clinical management. She holds advanced certification in Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Voice and Swallowing.
Nancy is a Clinical Educator with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a licensed member of the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, a member of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada, Speech & Hearing BC, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Susan Edwards, MSc, RSLP
Susan Edwards, MSc, RSLP, is the former Director of the Victoria Voice & Swallow Clinic and currently serves as our Senior Clinical Advisor.
As a recognized leader in speech-language pathology, Susan balances mentoring our clinical team on complex voice disorders while shaping the next generation of clinicians as a university lecturer and conference speaker.
In this advisory role, Susan ensures the clinic maintains the highest standards of evidence-based care while remaining a core pillar of our clinical legacy.
Andrea Tabaka M.SLP, RSLP
Andrea Tabaka M.SLP, RSLP is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist with experience working in a variety of medical settings for over 10 years.
Andrea enjoys working with clients and their families to help achieve their goals in regards to their swallowing, speech, language, and fluency. She has experience completing Flexible Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing and Voice (FEESV) to better evaluate clients swallowing, cough and vocal cord movement.
Andrea is an active hiker and kayaker and enjoys spending her time exploring beautiful British Columbia as well as travelling internationally.
Andrea is licensed through the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, and is a member of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada.
