The Victoria Voice and Swallow Clinic offers both clinical and endoscopic evaluations of swallowing to patients with dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)
Common symptoms of dysphagia include food remaining in the mouth (residue), sensation of food stuck in the throat, coughing, throat clearing, voice changes after swallowing, and food coming back up (regurgitation).
Our clinic can evaluate the swallow and determine what type of maneuvers, strategies, exercises and/or modification to liquid/solid consistencies will be beneficial. We can facilitate referrals to relevant medical practitioners, to ensure applicable diagnoses are identified and addressed.

The FEES exam is privately paid by the patient. Invoices are provided for those with extended health benefits wishing to obtain reimbursement. Direct billing can be completed for patients with ICBC claims.
Voice Health & Rehabiliation
Voice assessment that starts with a video image of your vocal folds and continues with treatment from speech-language pathologists experienced in voice rehabilitation for occupational voice users and singing professionals.
Upper Airway
Laryngeal imaging and treatment for upper airway disorders including Chronic Cough, Paradoxical Vocal Fold Movement/Vocal Cord Dysfunction, Exercise-Induced Laryngeal Obstruction. We also use imaging to provide biofeedback.
Swallowing Health & Safety
FEES: Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing so that you can see whether food or fluids are entering the airway. We provide exercises to help get you back safely to the family dinner table or the café with friends.
Speech & Communication
We provide speech services for adults with acquired neurological diagnoses such as Parkinson’s Disease, working with clients and their support networks to optimize communication, life participation, and quality of life.
